Hi HRES members and friends.

We have had an amazing, colorful Hudson Valley fall this year. It appears that the oak trees got together and decided to drop a large number of acorns. The wildlife in my yard is enjoying the bounty.

We had our monthly online Executive Committee meeting on October 15, 2025.

Here is a summary of the agenda topics we discussed:

• 2025 Symposium Status Update: Chuck – We reviewed the steps that we still needed to complete before the October 23, 2025 event. Everything seemed to be moving forward.
  Update: I’m happy to report that our “State of Aquatic Habitat Restoration on the Hudson River Estuary” symposium held at the Taconic Regional Parks Office in Staasburg, New York, received many positive comments from the attendees. We had +80 people participate, including 11 Invited Speakers, 8 student poster presenters, and several HRES members and friends of HRES. We will post highlights of the event on our website www.hres.org during November.
  We would also like to thank the Taconic Parks office staff who were very helpful during the event. Thanks to the HRES Board members who helped to coordinate all of the moving parts and pieces that were required to hold this successful event.
• Treasurer’s Report: David – Accounts stand at $40,000 balance for October. Both Federal and State taxes were filed electronically. HRES does not owe any taxes for FY-24.
• Winter Newsletter: David – Plans are still to publish the next edition in December.  
• 2025 Leadership Awards Dinner: Chuck – We will send out an email to the membership in November/December requesting nominations for our annual Leadership Awards dinner. The award categories are described on our website: www.hres.org.
• December Quarterly Board Meeting: Rich: Board Meeting will occur on December 3, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
• Memberships: Jim: Membership renewals started this month. I will send out email reminders this fall. Nineteen members signed up at the conference.
• Website: Jim – We will add details about the symposium in November.

Next Executive Committee online meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2025.
