Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. I was glad to see that the Hudson Valley weather was reasonable for late November.

Our HRES Executive Committee meeting was held on November 12, 2025. Chuck, Lucy, David, Emilie and I attended online. Here is a quick summary of the agenda topics that we discussed:

• Symposium Update – Chuck –
  • Financials – We ended in the black – we cleared $37 after all expenses were considered. Success!
  • Eighty-three attendees.
  • Emilie summarized the results of the questionnaires. Overall positive responses. A few of the recommended future topics included riparian restoration and climate change impacts.
  • Comments about the venue were good. Lack of WIFI access was a limiting factor.
• Leadership Awards Dinner – Chuck – Possible mid-February date. Mahoney’s Pub in Poughkeepsie. An email was sent out to the board requesting nominations for awardees.
• Winter Newsletter – David- Will include articles on 2025 McKeon student research grant winner; symposium highlights, newsmaker interview, and profile of our newest board member, Rich Pendleton. Dave also requested Hudson Valley photos that will be included in the publication.
• Treasurer’s report – David – Balance is currently $38,500.
• Website-Jim – Looking into scheduling online training for Jeff for WordPress. Goal is to expedite updates to our website.

The quarterly board meeting is scheduled for December 3, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The monthly executive committee meeting is scheduled for December 10, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
