HRES held its Annual Awards dinner at Mahoney’s Irish Pub in Poughkeepsie on February 18, 2025. Our awards program recognizes the contributions that individuals have made toward providing a better understanding of the environmental issues facing the citizens of the Hudson Valley. We were pleased to present the following awards to three individuals who the board felt represented the ideals and spirit of our program.

• Distinguished Service Award – Roy “JR” Jacobson – NYSDEC
• Outstanding Environmental Researcher Award – Dorothy Peteet-NASA/GISS LDEO/Columbia University
• Outstanding Environmental Communicator Award – Carrie Roble – Hudson River Park Trust

It was a very enjoyable evening getting together with our Hudson Valley friends to honor this Year’s Leadership Awardees.

Chuck Nieder, HRES’s Vice President, presented the awards to:
