Hello HRES members and friends.
August 30th already! It is amazing how fast summer goes when you are trying to enjoy every day. Fortunately fall is approaching and we get to experience the beauty of the region.
The HRES Executive Committee held our online meeting on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Here is a very brief summary of the agenda items that we covered:
· Symposium Prep- October 28th– Chuck:
o Venue – Cary Institute- Christina Otero requested a meeting with Chuck and me to review the program schedule and discuss with David Fischer our A/V requirements.
o Presenters: Margie and the symposium team are working on finalizing the slate of presenters.
o Caterer: Adams FairAcre Farms, Poughkeepsie store- Jim. Rindy Brady from Adams sent me the menu and associated costs based on our August meeting. A quick review shows that their prices are very reasonable vs. the caterers we have used in the past.
o Event Liability Insurance: Jim. I was directed to an online site by Marshall Sterling. The office we have used in the past has closed. As required by Cary, I was able to purchase a $1,000,000 policy for the day of the event. I will email the Certificate of Liability Insurance document to Christine this week.

· Treasurer’s Report: David- Balance is now $ 36,631.
· Board Meeting: David/Chuck – The next HRES Board Meeting is scheduled for September 18, 2026 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
